With the common objective to provide safe drinking water to rural areas in Colombia contributing to poverty alleviation of those communities, multiple and fruitful synergies among different stakeholders made possible the implementation of the Drink Water project described. It aimed to install and run a new water purification system able to supply 100% safe freshwater to 250 people in el Charco.
This manual was developed with the purpose of assisting communities in each of the steps to be followed for the official creation of an aqueduct association. This is an interactive manual: underline what you think is most important in the texts, and complete the manual as you go through each step.
This magazine aims to present Colombia’s green filters development as well as invite people and communities to resort to simple technologies to purify water explaining the advantages of the system and main technical issues.
The Living Lakes Network is an international partnership of 130 members working in more than 60 countries to protect and restore the lakes and wetlands of the world.
