Alejandro is a biologist with over 30 years of expertise in managing lake ecosystems, particularly in Mexico’s Lerma-Chapala basin. He holds MSc degrees from the University of Guadalajara and York University, with additional certifications in watershed and wetland management. As General Director of the Corazon de la Tierra Institute since 2002, Alejandro has led significant international and national projects, focusing on ecosystem restoration, governance, and Nature-based Solutions.
